ITC's Export Packaging Advisory Service regularly issues bulletins for developing country exporters on legislative guidelines, trade fairs, key information sources and other relevant packaging topics. Most of these bulletins are available in English, French and Spanish. They provide short overviews on one specific packaging aspect, as a complement to ITC's export packaging-related manuals (see the ITC Selected Publications list, page 39).

Over the last few years, ITC's work in export packaging has ranged from coverage of health and safety issues to waste management, trade regulations and labelling requirements-all topics of current interest to exporters of packaged products from developing countries. In developing its information bulletins, ITC relies on its library of packaging materials, which is one of the world's most comprehensive. The PACKDATA database, which registers books, reports and articles, has 5000 records and was begun in 1983. Its newest bulletin (spring 1999) is the PACKDATA Awareness Bulletin, which lists relevant technical and commercial publications, along with short abstracts.
