    ITC Evaluation Under Way

© International Trade Centre, International Trade Forum - Issue 1/2004

A joint evaluation of ITC has been launched. Led by the Danish International Development Agency (Danida), it is receiving funding support from seven donors and is conducted under the auspices of a "core group" of countries drawn from ITC's Joint Advisory Group. The consortium implementing the evaluation is comprised of DMI Associates (France), Ticon DCA (Canada), Copenhagen DC (Denmark) and Ace Global (India).

The scope of the evaluation is broad, involving assessment of ITC's comparative advantage, evaluation of the performance of ITC interventions and an assessment of funding modalities. The team of evaluators will also conduct extensive field and technical studies between April and July 2004. Members of the evaluation team will visit ITC partners in countries in different regions of the world. The evaluation team will also establish a web site to facilitate broader public input. The evaluation will be completed before the end of the year and will propose recommendations for the future role and focus of ITC.
