This table shows the state of ratification by UN member
countries, as of 1 January 2005, of 205 major multilateral trade
treaties covering contracts, customs, dispute resolution,
environment and products, finance, illicit trade, intellectual
property, investment, transport, treaty law and WTO agreements.
Countries can see their situation in terms of the number of
treaties ratified ("Rank by ratifications"); and by ratification
"score". Because all treaties do not have the same importance for
trade, ITC has given each a different weight. This results in a
ratification score, which helps assess whether, in a particular
country, the ratified treaties are those of greater or lesser
impact. For example, Lesotho ranks 111th out of 192 countries for
the number of treaties it ratified. But it scores 79th out of 192
countries because those treaties are significant.
