We were able to negociate a contract with a Latin American
company thanks to the MNS. As the exporter had no idea of the value
of its produce on the European market and refused to give the goods
on consignment, they agreed to use the MNS as a reference price and
then share the profits or losses depending on the final selling
price on the spot market.

We have been disseminating MNS reports by publishing selected
products, depending on seasonality and product potentials, in the
Business Times, a leading weekly newspaper, since March 1999. This
has triggered many inquiries from local suppliers for market
information. Recently, we started to publish the same information
in the Kiswahili newspaper, Majira, and the response is good. We
are now going to focus on a bulletin for flower producers, to make
full use of ITC's MNS report on cut flowers.
